Hudson Hotel – Small Yet Stylish!

Located across from Central Park, west on 58th Street, , Hudson hotel is just a few blocks away from Morgan Stanley and Broadway. This New York City Motel is a Morgans Hotel Group & Philippe Starck hotel, and that trademark is on display as soon as you enter. Guests are made to travel up in an escalator trapped in chartreuse glass, and the bar sports a lit floor, Dali chairs, and Louis XVI chairs upholstered in Barbarella silver. The park features 500 gallon watering cans and 30 foot vases and chaise longues in the middle of the garden pathways. But part of Hudson Hotel is decorated in university-style, where you see the lobby as a reminscent of Harvard Square, with its brick and its ivy and its enormous crystal chandelier. Instead of having lava lamps by your bed, you would have light boxes painted by Francesco Clemente.

The cafeteria of Hudson Hotel looks extremely pretty and features great steaming vats and long tables. It serves just about everything appetizing and a drink costs around $8.00 and all the Hudson cocktails are more substantial than Sea Breezes and keg beer. The clientele that packs the cafeteria every single day is far more reminiscent of university days.
Standard rooms that are offered at this New York City Motel are small with low ceilings. Starck is present in all the rooms in his more reserved mode with square beds, stainless steel tables, hardwood floors and loads of white. But the furnishings are said to be more old-fashioned – they are supposed to remember space-economizing yet graceful Victorian ship cabins. But then again these never had up-to-date wiring (T1 connection), which is ideal for each business travelers. An office and gym suites are also available making the stay perfect for each type of traveler may you be just be traveling for leisure or be traveling for business purposes
