The Carlton Hotel on Madison Avenue

Included in the Midtown Manhattan hotels is the Carlton Hotel on Madison Avenue. This hotel was renovated by David Rockwell himself. The lobby sets the mood for the rest of the experience of this grand hotel with a three story water fall and hand stenciled panels on the walls. This is one of the best hotels in Manhattan in the emerging Madison Square Park District.

An advantage to guests at this Manhattan hotel is the great location. The Empire State Building is less than a block away. Within a 5 block radius are Time Square, Broadway and all of its fine theaters, Grand Central Station, Macy’s, Herald Square, Penn Station, Madison Square Garden, Madison Park, the Flatiron Building, 5th Avenue shopping and Union Station.

This is a 12 story historic hotel which was built back in 1904. In 2005 New York Chef Geoffrey Zakarian moved in and set up his restaurant the “Country” in the hotel. The onsite restaurant provides formal dining and serves all three meals daily along with room service. Other onsite services include a concierge desk, a fully equipped business center with audio visual equipment rentals, cell phone rentals, porter and bell hop service, a door person, security guards, multilingual staff, ATM machine, valet dry cleaning and valet service, shoe shine and an elevator.

There are 316 rooms available for guests to occupy with standard room amenities including a 42 inch flat screen TV with cable connection, premium bedding, blackout curtains, telephone with data ports and voice mail, minibar, hair dryer, iron and iron boards, in room massages upon request, in room safes, clock radios and windows that actually open.
